WAHSET COVID Planning
The Governor’s Office and Washington State Department of Health issued new guidance for returning to education-based sports and activities, Tuesday, using the statistical benchmarks of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents in a given county as well as the percentage of positive tests.
Per the WAHSET Policies previously adopted, we adhere to both the WIAA and the Sponsoring High School Policy’s. The WIAA has used this guidance above from the Department of Health to develop new general, as well as sport-specific, return-to-play guidelines which will replace those previously tied to phasing in the Governor’s Safe Start Plan.

Practice Policy:
On Saturday October 17th, the WAHSET State Board (State Chairs and District Chairs) held a meeting to discuss and vote on a plan to begin practices. As this current situation is extremely fluid and different from District to District, we passed a vote where each District will determine the practice Policy determined by the Sponsoring High School.
