Below is INFORMATION & UPDATES on various aspects of STATE:

ARRIVAL – Participants cannot be at Grant Fairgrounds before 3:00pm on Wednesday, there is an additional cost of $16 for stall for Wednesday night and the associated camping fees.

OPENING CEREMONIES & PRESENTATION OF DISTRICTS – District Chairs need to be selecting their own athlete for presentation of their own District Flag. Practice for OPENING CEREMONIES will be on Thursday afternoon from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm with OPENING CEREMONIES at 7pm in the Ardell Indoor Arena.

WAHSET STATE FLAG – Caitlyn Dkystra, Castle Rock HS – Dist 3
WASHINGTON STATE FLAG – Jessie Schweitzer, Wenatchee HS– Dist 1
UNITED STATES FLAG – Kaytee Gibeau – Post Angeles HS – Dist 4
NATIONAL ANTHEM SINGER – Kristen Dipo – WF West HS – Dist 6

SCHEDULE – Links above are both the FINAL Schedule and the “Bad Weather” Schedule. If there is any change in schedule being used it would be on a per day basis and will be communicated by state staff.

FEES – $75 per horse state participation fee. Haul-ins allowed, but they must use a stall for the day.

CAMPING – District Chairs are in charge of allocating their allotted numbers of spaces per area. The state has assigned camping areas by District.

BARN ASSIGNMENTS – Stalls have been assigned out by school and District. Stall maps are available at the bottom of this page.

SHAVINGS – Preordered shavings will be onsite and ready for pickup. These will only be allowed to be picked up by District, so please coordinate within your district if you will not be present. Additional bags of shavings are available for purchase through the office. They are $9 per bale. Athletes should bring wheelbarrows. Stalls must be stripped upon departure.

DISTRICT #1 =  4 events – Jumping, Reining, Huntseat, IHOR
DISTRICT #2 =  4 events – Figure 8, Working Pairs, Drill 6+, Daubing (w/Dist 4)
DISTRICT #3 =  4 events – In-Hand Trail, Keyhole, Canadian Flags, Sorting (w/Dist 6)
DISTRICT #4 =  4 events – Showmanship, Individual Flags, BiWrangle, Daubing (w/Dist 2)
DISTRICT #5 =  4 events – Driving, Working Rancher, Dressage, Stockseat
DISTRICT #6 =  4 events – Trail, Barrels, Working Fours, Sorting (w/Dist 3)
DISTRICT #7 =  3 events – Poles, Saddle Seat, Roping

EACH DISTRICT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COURSE SETUP AND BREAKDOWN, COURSE MAINTENANCE (WHEN ALLOWED), WARMUP ARENA SUPERVISOR, IN-GATE SUPERVISOR, 2 SCRIBES (ONE FOR EACH JUDGE), 2 TIMERS (WHEN REQUIRD), ANNOUNCER, 2 INDIVIDUALS FOR OFFICE HELP FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF EVENT FOR POINTS TALLYING/VERIFICATION.

SILENT AUCTION – Don’t forget to have schools bring their SILENT AUCTION BASKETS for each school participating. Encourage them to “plan ahead” and not just run down to the local store to get items! The state office will be coordinating and will have auction bid sheets available to put with each school’s item(s).
